Each year the first Monday of May is one of the most important days in the fashion world’s calendar. Celebrities, designers and more flock to New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to attend the Annual MET Gala. The event is hosted by Vouge Editor In Chief and fashion icon Anna  Wintour and is held as fundraiser for the museum’s costume Institute.

Since it’s inception in 2005 the Met Gala has never been postponed or cancelled, that is until now. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing much of the world to go into lock down  it was announced earlier this month that this years MET Gala would be postponed. This year’s  exhibition / Gala Theme is titled "About Time: Fashion and Duration" and according to may fashion media outlets, will explore the connection between fashion and time through the lens of the writings of the late Virginia Woolf.

Although there is no official word of when the event will be rescheduled vouge.com has released some incredibly interesting content in collaboration with  various celebrities that looks back on their MET Gala moments. The site also features an amazing piece by fashion historian and  Vouge Editor at Large Lilah Ramiz titled “Only at the Met: An Oral History of the World’s Most Glamorous Gala” which you can read by clicking here.
