South Korea’s most conceptual and creative designer MAXXIJ  is back this season with his Fall-Winter collection titled “Future Blood”  Through this collection MAXXIJ aims to create an imaginary generation with a different standard of beauty that represents their distinct mindset.

Staying true to his brand identity MAXXIJ  incorporated 'gargantuan ' volume into his clothing with pieces of exaggeration as well as sleek and loose silhouettes.  Just like his previous collections, the designer applied a bold color contrast using black and beige as the main colors with bumblebee yellow and steel blue as accent colors.

Other unique features present in this collection include twisted crumbled, distressed, and cracked stitch lines that express the designer's artistic ideas. Some of our favorite pieces included those with melted-down collar outlines, repetitive in and out pockets, unexpected curved lines, and reversely placed materials that are conceptualized in comparison to today's traditional beauty. To highlight these ideas, the designer tied up and crumbled pockets on top of each other, representing possibly disagreeable beauty as the new form of beauty.

Throughout the collection, MAXXIJ replaced traditional menswear fabrics with functional and technical fabrics such as super light semi-transparent polyester that was worked on with traditional tailoring techniques.  The designer also recreated a historical military officer coat with high-quality hand-woven tweed fabric. This is a piece the designer calls “future luxury”

Once again MAXXIJ has proven itself as a brand that can stand on its own amongst both emerging and luxury brands of the West.
